The Greek National Opera concludes its 2025/26 artistic season with Giuseppe Verdi’s iconic La Traviata, in the historic production by Nikos S. Petropoulos, which returns to the GNO twenty-five years after its premiere at the Olympia Theatre and following its successful tour in China and Thessaloniki. The production is presented for the first time at the GNO’s Stavros Niarchos Hall at the SNFCC, inaugurating a new era of summer opera performances in the ideal conditions of an air-conditioned hall. The revival of Verdi’s beloved opera is part of the GNO’s tribute to the great Greek opera director, set designer, and costume designer Nikos S. Petropoulos.
