Periklis Koukos at La Fenice opera house in Venice with ‘Ode to Oedipus’

Following 'ANADROMES I' at the Athens Concert Hall, with the Philharmonia Orchestra of Athens, conducted by Nikos Tsouchlos, and soloists Mary-Ellen Nesi and Dimitris Koukos, composer Periklis Koukos travels to Venice.
La Fenice

At the legendary La Fenice opera house, the composer’s symphonic work, ‘O FOS AFEGGES – ODE TO OEDIPUS’, will be presented with the opera’s orchestra, conducted by maestro Konstantinos Karydis.

On March 6, 7, and 8, following its Berlin premiere in January, the four-part symphonic poem will be performed alongside Ernest Guiraud’s ‘La Chasse fantastique’ and Hector Berlioz’s ‘Symphonie fantastique op.14’ in three concerts at Venice’s beautiful opera house!

These three concerts conclude the European tour of the work, which was commissioned by the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Athens Festival for the 2025-2026 season.

A series of concerts featuring other works by the composer will follow in Stuttgart, Mannheim, Cologne, and Dortmund.
