
The qualifiers for the 19th Chopin Competition began on April 23 at the Chamber Music Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic.
Until May 4, more than 160 pianists will perform in recitals lasting approximately 30 minutes, with programs including études, nocturnes, scherzi, and mazurkas by Fryderyk Chopin.
China, Japan, South Korea, Poland, and the United States are the most represented countries during the qualifiers. We will also hear candidates from countries such as Brazil, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Uzbekistan.

The Qualifying Jury consists of: Piotr Paleczny (chairman), Ludmil Angelov, Nikolai Demidenko, Krzysztof Jablonski, Kevin Kenner, Marc Laforêt, Alberto Nosè, Ewa Poblocka, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, and Wojciech Świtała.
The list of musicians who will qualify for the Chopin Competition finals in October will be published on the Competition’s website by May 9, 2025.
